چکیده
The Sa’adi Formation is a part of the late Cretaceous period in Santonian-Campanian stage that represents potential hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir across many oilfields Mesopotamian Basin, South Iraq. was divided into two main parts as stratigraphy sequence. It consists chalky limestone with argillaceous upper and marly lower part. considered an important stratigraphic unit marked by petroleum shows. Thus, current research constructs depositional environment, evaluates reservoir, predicts best zones good quality. microfacies analysis carried out on thirty-five thin sections to reveal primary well logs data were used evaluate petrophysical properties Formation. Four appeared related carbonate ramp, which identified system track from mid inner ramp. These are; mudstone, wackestone, packstone, grainstone. Twelve sub-microfacies interpreted are pelagic lime mudstone benthic foraminiferal-argillaceous wackestone middle ramp experienced burial diagenesis syngenetic intra-fossil pores. results characterize bioclast echinoderms, bivalves, algae packstone grainstone (open marine shoal environments) pore-water diagenesis, meteoric freshwater dissolution, diagenesis. Shoal facies open favorable Diagenesis processes represented dissolution improved porosity permeability higher quality ramp; besides that, it recognized cementation micritization reduced

Microfacies analysis and depositional environment of the Fahliyan Formation (Lower Cretaceus), Abadan plain, West South of Iran (Arvand-field)
The Fahliyan Formation of Khami Group is hosting important hydrocarbon reserves in Iran and also is a main reservoir rock in the Abadan Plain oil fields which is Neocomian in age. In the studied wells its thickness is about 406 meters. In the Abadan Plain, the Fahliyan Formation transitionally overlies of the Garau Formation and its upper boundary changes into the Gadvan Formation. According to...

the sorkh shale formation (lower triassic) crops out in parts of tabas block. this formation is composed of limestone, dolomite, sandstone, shale and gypsum. its lower contact with the permian rocks and its upper contact with the shotori formation is marked by distinct erosional unconformity. to determine the depositional environments of the sorkh shale formation, stratigraphic sections of goda...
متن کاملSequence stratigraphy and depositional environment of the Oligocene deposits at Firozabad section, southwest of Iran based on microfacies analysis
The Asmari Formation was deposited in the foreland basin of southwest Iran (Zagros Basin). Carbonate sequences of the Asmari Formation consist mainly of large benthic foraminifera along with other skeletal and non-skeletal components. Three assemblage zones have been recognized by distribution of these large foraminifera in the study area that indicate Oligocene age (Rupelian-Chattian). Absence...

Early Permian fossil localities, including numerous tracksites, in the southern Robledo Mountains of Dona Ana County, New Mexico, cover an area of approximately 20 km2 . Lower Permian strata exposed here belong to four formations of the Hueco Group (ascend ing order): Shalem Colony, Community Pit, Robledo Mountains and Apache Da m Formations. With the exception of the Robledo Mountains Formatio...
متن کاملCrevasse-splay and associated depositional environments of the hominin-bearing lower Okote Member, Koobi Fora Formation (Plio-Pleistocene), Kenya
The Okote Member from the northeast Turkana Basin of Kenya represents an exceptionally good archive of Early Pleistocene archaeological and fossil sites. Field study of the lower Okote Member and underlying deposits was conducted in detail at two sets of outcrops (500 to 1000 m long) separated by some 22 km of modern landscape. The examined sections (10 to 15 m thick) preserve two facies: inter...
